Totty Charter – A Sober Perspective.
Tottington and Bury West’s Charter Night 2000 was held on the 4th March,
and it was a completely new experience for me. I was the designated driver, and for
the first time ever I was sober at a Charter Night.
The food was excellent. The Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding was a welcome change
to the chicken that you get all to often at these events, and the chocolate fudge cake
that I had as a dessert was delicious (Like most people chocolate is a passion of mine).
Service was fast and efficient, making the after dinner entertainment start all the sooner.
The meal was accompanied by a table-hopping balloon artist who offered to make
anything we wanted (within reason.) His centrepiece was a balloon motorbike which sat,
pride of place, on the bar.
The evening’s entertainment continued with a DJ playing music till the early
morning. This led to much dancing and drinking, with everyone having a fantastic time.
